U.S. Open of Surfing by Year
The U.S. Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach is the largest surfing event in the world. Over half a million people attend the week-long event and for the past several years I have been photographing it for OCSurfPix.com. With hundreds of pictures from the last several years posted on this site, it’s not possible to have a complete photo gallery in one page.
Below is a short summary of photos and links to the various articles on our OCSurfpix website that contain full individual galleries. To see the galleries/articles for each year follow the links below. And don’t forget to follow me on Instagram at @OCSurfPix and our photography page OCPix. Also, view the complete sets, (many not included in this website) starting from 2011 to present at our OCPix US Open of Surfing Gallery.

2013
In 2013, Vans took over as the main sponsor after Nike didn’t renew it contract at the end of the 2012 year. The 2013 year turned out to be one of the largest events in history. Although it was partially marred by a small riot on Main St. after the spectators were leaving the venue. Changes were made for the following year of 2014.
